The short film captures the life of Wang Jinshan, a bird lover from Zhenlai County, Jilin Province, in Momoge National Nature Reserve. It begins with a fisherman’s life in solitude, he becomes curious and interested in wetland birds, gradually establishes a deep trust with the wildlife, and finally embarks on a journey protecting the ecology as a volunteer.
He is a generous and responsible farming village chief, and also a child at heart whenever in the wild. For more than 20 years, Jinshan’s intimate stories with the wetland birds, deep, solid, sweet, and slightly bitter. Because of love, he never felt tired. As seasons turn, Jinshan and the birds became one.
As his idyllic homeland turns into an imagined paradise for outsiders, Balinese artist Made Bayak reveals the other side. Using plastic as a medium, Made's creative language and education activism bring us on a ride from holy peaks, sacred waters and his religious family life, all the way to the luxurious resort zones, questioning the state of Balinese culture in Bali’s mass tourism development.
